Frequently asked questions...
"poogie" 4"x5" acrylic on canvas
Do you need to meet my pet?
No. All that's needed are some good photos, a little description of your pet's personality, and the kinds of colors you like, or think that your pet might be if he or she were a fanciful color. Everything can be done via the web and email and shipped to you.
What about the background?
As you can see from the examples, the background can be anything from writing to something abstract, plain with just color, or contain a suggestion of the actual environment, like a couch or chair.
If I live in the San Francisco Bay Area can you come and photograph my pet for me?
Depending on scheduling and time constraints it may be possible. Chea loves to meet her furry subjects in person! There is an additional fee of $60 an hour including travel time for the service.
So I will own an original work of art?
Yes! Each painting is an original work of acrylic on canvas, a one of a kind created just for you! While you will own the actual painting, Chea retains all the copyrights for reproduction of the piece.
Does my portrait need to be framed?
No. The canvas is a "gallery wrapped" style with wide edges that need no frame. If you prefer to frame your portrait, a narrower style of canvas support will be used that will require a frame. You will need to have it framed yourself.
What if I don't like the finished portrait?
While it's never happened, Chea wants to make sure you absolutely love your portrait! Before it is shipped to you, a photo of the finished painting will be emailed for you to approve. Only after your approval do you send the balance of the payment with shipping and applicable taxes. She will let you know how much the balance is when the photo is sent for your approval. If you decide you do not want the painting after all, then you send no more money, and Chea will keep the work. But she is sure you will love your love dog portrait!
Why is the 50% deposit non-refundable?
In order to ensure a slot in the very busy schedule and cover the many hours of preparation entailed in your portrait, the deposit needs to be non-refundable to cover labor costs, and for art materials which are quite expensive, should you change your mind about the project. Unfortunately, there cannot be any exceptions to this rule.
If I don't want to order and pay online through PayPal, can I send the photos and payment by regular mail?
Of course! Initially you will have to email. Include your phone number, and you will be contacted. Everything can be sent via regular mail and money orders are accepted.
